4 Gigs is impossible with air, only mad cooling.
Just don't compare the 2 CPU's, the Athlon 64's are so much superior.
The 3500+ has dropped a fair bit in price already over here.
Id say a 3000+ or 3200+ with a Nforce 3 250 wouldn't be much more than expensive than a 3ghz P4 o/ced to 3.6ghz, and it would be a lot faster.
Obviously you never had a p4 rig , and know little about their ocing capabilities. Perc is the OCer here , dont question his knowledge. lol thx man i thx you for your kindness but im not claiming to be right all the time. all im sayin here is that the amd in my eyes is too expensive. im not tryin to compare the two im simply just sayin for the 800 bucks it costs for the amd cpu i can build a hole new intel platform that i promise you will perform 90% of what the amd will for alot less. perc,

I've seen a couple of people get to 4ghz+ on air.... it's not common, but its possible. I'm sorry but a P4 O/C'd to 3.6ghz+ is going to be faster than a A64 3000+ or 3200+ in MOST cases.
I know that geesh, i obviously didn't explain myself well enough. Overclocks like that are not the norm, and if you can o/c that far on a P4, a 3200 at say 2.6ghz is gonna f**ck a P4 up the ass. no not at 2600 either man it would probly take a 3200 at 3gigs to f**ck a p4 in its ass. at 2400mhz my 3200 scored a whooping 10k in cpu test where as my p4 at 4gigs was 13k. about the ONLY thing the 3200 at 2400mhz would do is match my p4 in 3dmark and games. i think the newer 3500plus 64 chips may stand a chance but not the 3000 and 3200 like your claiming. funny thing is man your argueing with an amd freak not an intel fanboy and im tryin to tell you as unbiased as i can that for the money vrs performance amd is loosing this battle. you of all people should know i have nothing against amd and that its my platform of choice but its a sad day in my ocing life when i have to run an intel cause its cheaper and just as fast and faster in some cases. now before you go flaming me back please note i am talking about the 3000/3200 chips your claiming to be so much faster then a 3.0 at 4gigs plus. peace perc,

Synthetic benchmarks, then yes, the P4 wins, but 99% of people buy these CPU's for gaming and the AMD wins.
i dont care what you do with the chip. gamming ocing benchmarking what ever the 2800/3000/3200 64 chips are slower then the 3.0 oced to 4gigs plain and simple. rember man the 2800/3200 64 chips dont perform much beter then the 2800/3200 bartons. the only real diff in the two chips is ofcourse the 64 bit instructions and the memory controler being on the chip creating less latencey with is defeated by the single chanel controler. no doubt those chips perform real well (barton or 64 series) i mean a 2200mhz chip vrs a 3000mhz chip amd is deff doing somthing right! now the real power is in the newer fx series chips theres no arguing that fact but who the hell has 800 bucks? i dont! wich brings me back to the org topic of my thread.. performance vrs the dollar the intel platform im looking to build will win this match gamming ocing you name it... peace perc,

Your arguments for are so one sided.
You basically said:
"A P4 at 4Gigs beats a stock 3200+"
Well of course it f**cking does. If you read what i say, i said 3200+ at 2.6/2.7, i kno what id rather have.
Also the 939 socket 3800/ is hardly any different to the FX.
look you thick headed fcuker a 2800/3200 64 chip at 2400mhz thru 2800mhz is not going to beat a 3.0 at 4 gigs! i never said stock you did. all along i have been sayin its going to take atleast 3gigs out of those chips to beat or keep pace with the 3.0 at 4gigs plain and simple! tell you what go oc your 64 3200 and come back and ill whipe your ass with my 3.0c at 4gigs that i promise you. oh yeah... you dont own one man you dont even own a god dammed 64 3200. look you have totaly come in here and ruined my hole thread with your stupid bull S**t. take this warning and go fcuk with someone else otherwise man your days are numbered here this i promise you... perc,
