new cooling
« on: August 14, 2004, 10:16:28 AM »

i cut out 6 80mm fan holes in my case.
the holes were there before but had those lil 2mm holes, which isn't quite effective
2 holes in the back, 4 in front where the hd goes and 1 on the side  panel

i installed 2 80mm fans and a 120mm fans, the 2 80mm fans in the back and 1 on the side (all are exhaust)

the 120 is for air intake

i have 1 problem not enough air in,

since i want to filter the air in using my filter material( can't remember the name at the moment) and don't want to see it i'm forced to use the 80mm fans as exhaust.

came up with the idea of cutting a hole in the case base to allow fiiltered air intake, my friend suggested i put it on stilts.

what do you all think?
i also have another 120mm fan

that's what i thought
air in = air out
or close to
on mine 4 air in = air out

earlier i the 120mm ac fan connector shorted out on my case, blowing out my line conditioner.
luckily nothing happened to my pc and sterio

had to resolder a capacitor and had to go lookin round for a multimeter to check the vout on the line con.

so for now i'll either have to order some DC 120mm fans or pick up 4 dc 80mm fans

forgot to mention i cut a hole at the bottom of the case
3"*4" box
so it droped the ratio to about 3 to 1

still tryin to minimize dust from gettin inside the case
