heya pplz, got a prob, plz help???
havin a problem with this lan connection. we hook up 2 computers through LAN, and when the games run through the lan, they run jumpy. descent 3 is playable, but crappy, but TA goes at a 8th of the speed. 2 months ago it was working fine and we havent played anything on it since. does anyone know whats up with it? it used to go smooth and fine, but its just started bein a bitch. it seems to make the whole computer run slower after we exit the game after its been laned.
thnx scotty

Try exiting all un-necessary programs, and AV software if needed, and see if that helps...

Found this tweak for networks the other day, worth a try :-
There was a bug in windows 2000 that would cause the scheduled tasks folder to be searched when ever the user would browse network drives. Microsoft developed a fix for this bug. The fix fixed the problem and it also had nice side affect of speeding up browsing of Microsoft networks. Below are instructions how to apply the fix.
1.up regedit. 2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace. 3. Find a key named {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}. 4. Right click on it and delete it. 5. Restart
