« on: November 07, 2004, 09:29:45 PM »

What do you guys think of this cooler?
 Cooler Master's JET 4

I'm thinking of getting it for a 3.0GHZ Prescot, what do you think?

I saw some pretty good reviews on that when it first came out, I haven't had any experience with it though...

That particular one looks like something just to "look cool".  As you've got a jet engine on your p4 =)

I found that review against a zalman 7000-Cu.  The main thing, to me, is that it gives slightly worse performance, but so much more noise.  I have no experience with the jets other than seeing/hearing one in my friend's case.  So take my opinion with a grain of salt.  Good luck with whatever you end up with.

If you will be overclocking past 270fsb with increased voltages then a custom cooler would be a good idea , however stock p4 hsf's are good for upto 270fsb. Dunno however about the stock presccot hsf , if i was you go for the northwood "C" chips , they IMO are still better then the prescots.

Northwood is out of the question 'cause I can't find any Northwood faster than 2.4ghz, I'm afraid of Prescot's heat issues and I sure wish I could know just how good is the stock Prescot cooler, I don't think I'll be OCing much, but I don't want to limit my possibilties.
