DVD Region AghhhhhhhHHh !

Hey guys ive had this LG gcc-4520b combo drive for a while , ive played only american region movies on it and they always worked , lately however ive been borrowing some different region movies from friends , im getting chinese , english , european and probably even airline and cruise regions lmfao . The problem is i only got the region choose setting once , meaning i have 4 choices left , for some reason i cant watch anything but american region anymore even though driveinfo tells my i have a few tries left , ive tried software hacks likfe region-free , and if it does come down to it i will update the firmware if that will work . I put in these other region movies and it takes a while , the drive spins but at a very low speed , and takes a while to recognize whats on the dvd , iup powerdvd and it just hangs till i get a messege that the disc is dirty or some shit , i can play all these dvd's on my secondary pc though so they are not damaged , any ideas thanks....

Hi there if you look at my pc set up lg rom multiregion flashed heres the link http://forum.firmware-flash.com

copy & paste it all in yer browser
word of warning make sure you have the exact model number before flashing it..as flashing it with firmware cannot be undone....the one i flashed it with was a beta firmware-multiregion...now if it sets on r1 or r2 all i do is restart my pc & its back so i can keep changing the regions this way

The Dangerous Brothers have just released an autoreset patch for the LG GDR8161B 16X/48X half-hight DVD-ROM drive. It is currently in the testing stage and should be used with caution. It was tested by the creators and worked. It is version 1.02. The benefit of an autoreset firmware such as this is that you don't need any extra software such as Region Killer or DVD Genie, you can freely change the region until you run out of chances, then just restart your computer and you'll get another 5 changes!

or you could just use DVD decrypter to remove the region block from the dvd and play the dvd from your HD
