I myself have done a good share of ocing but on my own stuff i always have aftermarket cooling. I recently oc'd my dad's computer which is running a 2.4C and i have it running at 2.9 625 Vcore. The temps get up to 50-51 degrees C. Is that too much for the pentiums to be at bc i seem to remember my old AMD 1.33 running mid 50s at stock speeds.

Hey there BlackHawk,
That isn't too high if that is what the temp really is. My P4P800, I use the AsusProb, and it reads about 14 degrees low, so I have to add that. Most times under load, I'm getting 36, plus 14, so there you have your 50.
From what I read, Intels have to get to 70ish, before there is extreme damage...
Later....

BLackHawk , "2.9 625 Vcore" ? Ummm why so much vcore thats strange , does it actually need that much to boot and be stable cause i can run my 2.4c @ 3.0 at stock voltage , plus my board undervolts lol.

Well I havent messed with it too much as I have been busy rebuilding the engine for my car. At stock voltage it rebooted at windows login at around 2.75 GHz. At 1.6 vcore i could get 2.8 Ghz and i got 2.9 Ghz to boot but under load (3dmark01 with 5 test loop) it would crash.

i agree totaly i have owned two 2.4c chips both were able to run 3300mhz on the defualt v-core. my experiance with intel is that v-core has little to no effect on the chips oc providing the systems cooling is effective. now ofcourse there is always a point where you have to start raising the v-core but most of the time with intel you have almost reached the chips limit by this point. you may want to check the systems cooling? i bet if you can drop the temps? youl find that you need less v-core to oc that chip. i know that with this 3.0c i got right here when i was running it at 1.75v just to get 3900mhz i was going about it the wrong way cause now after much improvement on my cooling and dropping the v-core back down to 1.55v (basicly the chips defualt v-core) im now able to run 3800mhz 1:1 where as before on air i had to run 1.75v to get 3900mhz 5:4. anyways man just a little insight into my experiance with intel and ocing. hope this helps even if just a little? peace perc,

My 2.6c uses 1.625 volts for 3.3 but my board overvolts and according to mbm5 its at 1.65. Can boot at stock but crashes in aquamark. I used to use the stock cooler and the hottest my cpu ever reached, according to mbm5, was 51.

yeah will even at 51c your still way to hot for ocing the chip on the defualt v-core. example i had this 3.0c running on air with the sp-94 and tornado 92mil jet engine and my temps where 32c/36c under load max! now at those temps i had to use 1.75v just to get 3900mhz at 5:4 now i take the same system and drop it in a bone stock mach1 phase change cooling unit and now im able to run 3800mhz at 1.55v 1:1 with my temps avging -20/-12c depending on load? now if you notice not only did i drop down to basicly defualt v-core but i was also able to run the 1:1 divider where as before i had to run 5:4. now i know not everyone can afford to buy one of these units. im just using this as an extreme example to show how cooling can make or break your oc. i would think that if you could drop that 51c down to atleast 40c and keep it there you would see some more head room on your oc's.... peace perc,
