I flashed up 3dMark 2003

and in the summary it says that my P4 2.4 has a max clock of 3.1 Ghz.  Does this mean I can safely O'clock my CPU to 3.1?

Thanks

Yeah 3DMark03 says the internal clock maximum is 3.0ghz for my processor.
Sandra in the CPU & Bios Information module says under Upgradablility that the supported speeds are 3.0ghz+...

What do the P4's say under sandra? I fired up my second computer (which is a duron 1ghz) and it said suppored speeds 1.0ghz+ and under 3DMark it says 1.0ghz maximum...I havent ever tried OC'ing it tho cuz the mobo is crap....

In sandra it says my cpu has a clock maximum of 3.6ghz. I always thought that it was just the fastest cpu that the board supported that determined this number.

maximum clock is what your theoretical maximum clock with your current FSB speed, and the highest multiplier on your board/cpu. Atleast that's what I've been led to believe.

Peace
