« on: June 18, 2004, 07:38:11 AM »

I heard it was possible to connect a Playstation 1 to a PC via aerial cable, is this true? if it is, then please tell me how it can be done.

You will need 1 of 2 things.

1. Video in on your video card (aka VIVO: Video in Video out)

or

2. A TV tuner card

My TV tuner card came with an adaptor to put in the A/V cables for my PS2/DVD player ect., otherwise you would need to buy one.

Thanks man, but that's not what I was talking about. I meant to control the PS1 hardware with the PC software, not just to view the PS screen in my monitor, but thanks anyway :-)

The best option would be to use a PS1 emulator
goto google and search PSX emulator
then u can just use the psx discs and put them into your cd drive and run them thru the emulator

Opps I thought you were asking something else.  I know there's an adapter so you can use PS2 controller on the PC (I have one), so I'm sure theres something for the memory cards out there.

I like to play GTA San Andreas in PC but it should be connected to the TV so that it looks real and huge too. It also makes more sense to the game. I haven't tried connecting my PC to the TV since I got my new computer yep. But I would definitely do it as soon as I get GTA San Andreas in PC. Can't wait to look in the TV.

Wouldnt playing a PC game on TV force you to run lower resolutions, therefore it wouldnt look as nice and 'as real'. Games to look forward to on tv or (my dream) projector, would be car racing games and flight sims, that would be sweet, not really a 3rd person (correct me if im wrong) game such as GTA.

if you just want it for ease of use you could buy a PS2 VGA adapter and run a 2-port monitor switch.
