VR-Zone Pushes 7600GT to 715MHz!

Another mod job well done by the folks at VR-Zone. They managed to take a 7600GT and mod the core voltage from 1.35v to 1.55v. Also, the memory voltage was changed from 1.87v to 2.1v. The results ended up with 715MHz on the core and 830MHz on the mem, which equaled a score of 7424 in 3DMark05.

ATI's X1900GT Out, Well Sort of...

Okay, well the X1900GT isn't officially out yet but it seems one guy managed to purchase one from his local retailer.

The card should officially be released on the 9th and it will sport 256MB GDDR3 memory, a 574MHz core, and memory clocked at 594MHz.

AGEIA PhysiX cards sampled

WE HEAR that AGEIA and its retail partners have begun to sample its cards. It won't be a long before you see the first review of this rather interesting product.

We know that the driver weighs in at some 8MB, but we are sure that it includes some API things that will make your card run the super-cool physics.

7900 Shortage?...Not anymore

NVIDIA managed to maintain solid shipment of Geforce 7900 GTX and GT cards. It took it roughly six weeks after it announced the cards but from now on you should not have any major problems to find one at the local store.

AGP Still Not Dead Yet...

GAINWARD has gone back to its roots. It managed to make some unique products and to make quite a fuss about them. It is about to ship Gainward BLISS Geforce 7900 GT "Golden Sample" 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) – Retail and the card should be available any week now at overclockers. It will cost you £293.69 including VAT.

The core will run at 550MHz+ MHz with an overclocking potential to 650MHz and the memory will run at 1400MHz + with an overclocking potential to 1700MHz. This is, of course, just in theory.

10Gig iPod Nanos?

Apple will be launching new 8GB and 10GB iPod nanos in the summer. Apple itself has hinted that iPod prices are due for a spot of pruning. “We expect [the average iPod selling price] to be down a little bit in the June quarter,” said CFO Peter Oppenheimer recently. Reading between the lines, this doesn’t necessarily mean that iPod prices will drop, but that Apple could be predicting increased sales of the cheaper Shuffle and nano models. Read more.

MS to upgrade XBOX 360 CPU?

Interesting news this morning, Microsoft are looking at upgrading the Xbox 360 CPU early next year. A faster chip to combat PS3?
The new CPU will be built using technology that can reduce heat and power consumption, as well as potentially increasing speed. It will also help Microsoft cut the console's cost. Read more.

So your sick of spam? A host of software companies, security firms and Internet service providers met in Chicago on Wednesday to urge corporations and bulk message senders to adopt e-mail authentication technologies. E-mail authentication does not solve the problem of unsolicited commercial e-mail but provides a tool to end the spoofing of the sender's address, making the consequences of sending bulk e-mail a reality for spammers.
