PSU problem??
« on: April 14, 2004, 02:51:13 PM »

hey guys

i've been havin a problem with my LED case fans and UV light lately. They are all flashing alot like strobe lights. And my CPU temp has been a little higher than usual. At the moment i'm running the 400W power supply i got with my case (el cheapo one worth $80). Undecided I'm wondering if the flashing is to do with the PSU?? Any ideas??

My comp specs are in my sig. The mods i'm running include 80mm LED case fan, 120mm LED case fan, Vantec UV Fan Card w/ 2 70mm fans, 12" UV cold cathode.

thx

im gonna guess that you dont have another PSU that you can try?, are you able to un plug the fans and see if that has any effect on your CPu temps?

Well, It seems like it is power related... Try re-checking your power cables looking for a faulty connection or try another power cable from the psu. Be very carefull though as a fluactuating power supply could even damage your hds or other perhipals if unlucky. The best thing would ofcourse be to try another power supply.

i'm gonna go get a Thermaltake 480W Butterfly psu...the safest thing would be to replace it...don't really wanted to risk losing my other components Smiley
