Just recently whenever I play anything graphicaly intensive, or any game for that matter, the game just eats up my ram. (ie like 200MB) All of my drivers r up to date. And game updates d/l'd. Any ideas?

I know the game uses the memory, BUT, C&C General:Zero Hours using over 200MB, and BF:Vietnam using over 300MB, isn't that a litttle odd? I mean they running choppy as hell, but unreal 2k4 runs fine. it doesn't make any sense to me.

Well if all of your video memory gets used up, it starts taking memory from the system up to the size you set your AGP apature for. Since he has a 128mb card I doubt that all of his video memory is being used up especially since he won't be able to run high aa/af with a GF4.
Honostly, another 512mb of memory would solve the problem. When I only had 512mb, some of my games would run choppy at first and then smooth out after a couple of minutes. Other than that, I'd recommend closing down anything you absolutely don't need running in the background when you play games. Also run adaware and search and destroy spybot if you haven't recently. I had a friend that had a spyware program on their computer taking over 32mb of memory alone and some processing power.

yes skid is right man. you need to go to run and type in "msconfig" then a window shouldand there you can edit your start programs that are running in the back ground. alot of them progs eat up memory and once you turn all that unused crap off youl be seeing alot better performance.
peace perc,

Yeah I kicked around the idea of another 512mb of ram to juice it up a bit. And i already close non-essential programs and run ad removal stuff all the time. Guess i just need to get some new stuff . I needed an excuse to get the 6800u when it comes out anyway. Thx for the input guys.
